Keep Moving / Madness (1984)

この頃の Madness はノッてましたよね。
3rd. アルバム "7" ～ "Rise & Fall" ～このアルバムあたりは完璧でしょう。
"It Must Be Love"、"Tomorrow's (Just Another Day)"、"Our House"、このアルバムの "The Sun and the Rain"、"Prospects"、"One Better Day"、"Michael Caine" と名曲ぞろいです。

オリジナル。アルバムは12曲入りですが、イギリスのバンドらしく、シングルは別になっています。前後のシングル "Wings Of A Dove" や "The Sun And The Rain" やその12" Mix などがボーナスとして入ったこのアルバムは最強でしょう。

2トーン・ムーブメントの一員としてデビューしましたが、"7" 以降はスカ色はほとんどなくなり、ロンドン・パブ・ミュージックとなっています。
このあたり、本家 Specials と同じような動きですね。
原初はパンクと同じ、複雑化と産業化を重ねたロックへの反動で、スカを選んだわけですが、その形にこだわる必要がなかったということでしょうかね。

このアルバムとは関係ないですが、"It Must Be Love" のおもちゃのようなドラムのサウンドを、高橋幸宏がえらく誉めていたのを思い出しました。
