Got to Find a Way / Curtis Mayfield (1974)

順番から言うと、"Back to the World"(1973) → "Sweet Exorcist"(1974) → 本作 → "There's No Place Like America Today"(1975) という風になります。

キャッチーなメロディの曲がないので、評価的には地味なアルバムなんでしょうが、捨てたものではありません！
"There's No Place Like America Today" ほどのヒリヒリ感はないものの、タイトなリズムセクションにワウ・ワウ・ギターとストリングスが絡む佳曲そろいです。
といっても全6曲、A面3曲、B面3曲しか入ってないんですけどね。その分1曲がちょっと長い。

1曲目 "Love Me (Right in the Pocket)" もいいんですが、終盤に向かっての2曲 "Cannot Find a Way" と "Ain't No Love Lost" が特にいいですね。
ストリングスから始まり、終始ストリングス、コーラスワーク、ブラスが緊張感を高めている "Cannot Find a Way"。
"Ain't No Love Lost" はコンガとギターが絶妙で、ヴォーカルのファルセットに合っています。
