90年代R&Bの傑作です。
親しみやすいメロディと、70年代を中心としたサンプリング、それと90年代ヒップホップが絶妙の融合をみせています。
Curtis Mayfield や Roy Ayers の曲なんかは、やっぱいいな、と思いますし、知らなかった曲もたくさんサンプリングされています。ようそんな曲をこの曲のバックとしてサンプルしたな、と思えるような曲も使っていて、このあたりはプロデューサーのセンスなんでしょうね。スゴイ。
アルバム全体を決定づけているのは #1 "Mary Jane" でしょうか。サンプルのちょっと懐かしいミディアムグルーブは、Rick James の作曲らしいです。
何枚か彼女のアルバムは聴きましたが、これが一番いいですね！
